Sons of Arrakis announce Volume III for January 2027, share "Rise of Disaster"

Montreal progressive heavy rockers Sons of Arrakis have set a 22 January 2027 release date for their third album, Volume III, via Black Throne Productions. The announcement arrives with the first single, "Rise of Disaster", released 8 October and featuring guest vocals from Luc Bourgeois of Sandveiss.
The band describe their sound as "melange rock" rooted in Frank Herbert's Dune universe; lyrically the track draws on Naomi Klein's The Shock Doctrine, exploring how crisis is exploited for control. Musically it moves from urgent, riff-driven verses to melodic choruses before a chaotic instrumental close. The album was produced by the band, recorded at Red Tube Studio and home studios with Luc Boivin, Frederic Couture and Francis Duchesne, and mixed and mastered by Karl Daniel Liden. Cover art is by Alexandre Goulet.
Volume III follows 2024's Volume II, which saw the band tour Europe for the first time. The eight-track tracklist includes the two-part "Shaïtan – Tale of a Divided God", the nine-minute "Geminae Lunae ad Perigeum" and the title piece "Rise of Disaster". The single's official video is on the Black Throne Productions YouTube channel.
