Hippie Death Cult release “Grit, Blood & Bone” — first new music in three years

Hippie Death Cult

Portland heavy-psych trio Hippie Death Cult have released “Grit, Blood & Bone”, a stand-alone single and their first new studio recording since 2023. The track arrives via Blacklight Media/Metal Blade Records, the label partnership announced earlier this summer. An official video directed by Eddy Vasquez premiered on the Metal Blade Records YouTube channel on 6 October 2026.

The band describe the song as “a powerful, unapologetic statement of resilience — a fierce anthem of self-acceptance that celebrates the strength found in aging, the beauty of hard-earned scars, and defiant confidence in the face of societal judgment.” Musically it bridges 1970s foundational grit with high-velocity thrash-inflected intensity, keeping the power-trio attack sharp and deliberate.

Hippie Death Cult are currently mid-way through a European and UK tour running until 30 October, with dates in France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and the UK. From 2 November they join Corrosion of Conformity and The Sword for a two-week US co-headline run, followed by seven headlining shows along the West Coast through 29 November. The single is available on Bandcamp and streaming platforms.
