Unida Shares First New Song Since 2004, “Sweet Surprise”

Unida, the desert/stoner-rock band around Kyuss guitarist Arthur Seay, has shared “Sweet Surprise,” its first new track since 2004. The song came out November 1 on the band’s Bandcamp page, and its lyric video premiered November 2 via The Obelisk.
Arthur Seay produced and engineered the recording; Ulrich Wild mixed and mastered it. The lineup is Seay on guitar, Mike Cancino on drums, Collyn McCoy on bass, Mark Sunshine on vocals. The Obelisk describes a twisting central riff over a smooth-riding groove, with fluid transitions and rich tones, and vocals that fit the band without imitating John Garcia.
Unida calls the track a standalone for now, though the group is confirmed for the Mojave Experience festival in Joshua Tree in March 2027. “Sweet Surprise” is digital-only, $2 or more, on Bandcamp.
