Noctule: Extinguish Thy Flame reviewed on Echoes and Dust

Echoes and Dust has published a review of Extinguish Thy Flame, the second album from Noctule — the solo black metal/melodeath project of Serena Cherry (formerly of Svalbard) — released 25 September 2026. Inspired by the world of Elden Ring, the record channels its boss battles into cathartic, melodic extremity: ice-cold riffs and buzzsaw melodies give way to piano passages of introspection before surging back into glorious crescendos. Reviewer Martyn Coppack notes the deep emotional symbiosis between the game's themes and Cherry's music, calling it 'almost a perfect album in the way it unfolds' and highlighting the solo creation's impressive scope. The self-released album is available on Bandcamp. The video for 'Goddess of Rot' premiered on the official Noctule channel.
