Finnish-Swedish-Swiss doom institution Lord Vicar have finished recording their fifth album, eight years after The Black Powder (2019). The as-yet-untitled record was tracked, mixed and mastered with Joona Lukala at Noise for Fiction studio in Turku, Finland, and is slated for CD, vinyl and digital release at the end of February 2027 via Svart Records. Drummer Gareth Millsted calls it "our best one yet"; guitarist Kimi Kärki notes 279 individual tracks laid down. The band — Kärki (guitars), Chritus Linderson (vocals), Millsted (drums), Fredrik Jansson (bass) — have a show booked for 14 November in Sunbyberg, Sweden, alongside The Graviators and Hexjakt. Svart's roster (Oranssi Pazuzu, Green Milk From The Planet Orange) places this squarely in the psychedelic-doom sphere.
