Philadelphia duo Deathbird Earth have premiered a video for "Christchurch 281", a track from their debut album Objective Consciousness released in April on SRA Records. The Obelisk hosts the premiere today, describing the piece as a weighted, willful slog of a riff that carves out the band's place in heavy noise and post-modern heaviness. The video by Justin Roman leans into CRT television and VCR aesthetics, a Melvins-adjacent mindset that the band refract through their own spaced-out, two-piece attack. Objective Consciousness arrived alongside two collaborative full-lengths, marking an unconventional triple debut. Deathbird Earth will tour the US in November with doom jazz veterans Stinking Lizaveta.
