Archive selection: Japanese motorik psych-rock quartet maya ongaku recorded a full KEXP studio session on 8 April 2025, broadcast 12 June 2025. The Enoshima Island band — Tsutomu Sonoda (guitar, vocals), Shoei Ikeda (sax), Kenichi Iwamoto (bass), Takuro Yamada (drums) — blend hypnotic krautrock repetition with folky and jazzy textures, drawing on ambient coastal field recordings. Their debut Approach to Anima (2024) established a meditative yet driving sound; this KEXP set captures them at full stretch.
