Korlakang debut with Thai psychedelic 7-inch Samong Sai on Guruguru Brain

Bangkok quartet Korlakang have released their debut 7-inch single Samong Sai through Fukuoka-based label Guruguru Brain. The two-track record — Samong Sai and Jackfruits — arrived on 3 July 2026 on limited pink vinyl (500 copies) and digitally. The band formed from high-school friends in Thonburi, the canal-laced western bank of Bangkok, and blend Thai traditional music with the warm haze of psychedelic rock.
The single was mixed and produced by Go Kurosawa (Kikagaku Moyo, Guruguru Brain co-founder) and mastered by Soushi Mizuno, recorded at Jaturong House in Bangkok. The A-side Samong Sai runs just over three minutes, drifting on sweet, chill guitar lines and unhurried vocals that feel like sound faintly coming through a neighbour's window. The B-side Jackfruits is a shorter, punchier companion at just over two minutes.
Guruguru Brain describes it as a record that seems to arrive already aged, carrying the grain and warmth of a forgotten 70s pressing. For a label that has championed Japanese and wider Asian psychedelia — from Kikagaku Moyo and Minami Deutsch to maya ongaku and Dhidalah — this Thai debut extends the roster naturally across the region.
