Kanaan announce self-titled tenth album for October 16 on Jansen Records

Kanaan

Norwegian heavy progressive trio Kanaan have announced their tenth album, the self-titled Kanaan, set for release on 16 October 2026 via Jansen Records. The record marks ten years since the band's 2018 debut and arrives as a celebration of their decade-long musical partnership. Two advance tracks are already streaming: the concise opener "P1800" and the six-minute "Silver Cloud Blues", both issued on 25 September. The album was recorded in September 2025 at Athletic Sound in Halden with engineer Dag Erik Johansen, with additional overdubs at RCS Studios. Mixed by Johansen and mastered by George Tanderø, the four-track sequence runs from the motorik drive of "P1800" through the sprawling 20-minute suite "The Wonderer (Part I-V)". Kanaan — Ask Vatn Strøm (guitars), Eskild Myrvoll (bass, synths, Mellotron) and Ingvald Vassbø (drums) — will tour Europe in October, including Heavy Psych Sounds Fest in Berlin and Dresden (16–17 Oct) and Desertfest Belgium (18 Oct), before a Norwegian club run through December and a January 2027 show at Oslo's John Dee. Vinyl (black and a sold-out 100-copy "algae" edition), CD and digital pre-orders are open via Jansen Records and the band's Bandcamp.
