From the archive: Fushitsusha live at Alhambra, Geneva, September 2026

A full-concert document of Fushitsusha at the Alhambra in Geneva on 2 September 2026, uploaded by Agata Urbaniak to the poly.camerous channel. The lineup features Keiji Haino (guitar, vocals), Yasushi Ozawa (bass) and Jun Kosugi (drums) — the trio formation that has carried the group's uncompromising psychedelic rock and free-improvisation approach into its fourth decade.
The performance captures the group's signature interplay: Haino's incendiary guitar and vocal intensity, Ozawa's anchoring bass lines, and Kosugi's propulsive drumming. The set moves through extended improvisations and structured compositions, documenting a band that has remained a touchstone for Japanese psychedelic and avant-garde music since its inception at the legendary Minor venue in Kichijoji in the late 1970s.
This footage arrives shortly after Psychedelic Baby Magazine's extensive interview with Tamio Shiraishi, original Fushitsusha member alongside Haino, who recalled their early duo rehearsals as "more of a duel than a duet." The Geneva concert shows the current trio in formidable form, a living link to that foundational period of Japanese underground rock.
