The Flaming Lips have announced their seventeenth studio album, The Teardrop Throbs, set for release on 22 January 2027 via Third Man Records. It is the band's first all-new LP in more than six years and their debut on Jack White's label. The lead single, 'God Will Control The Werewolves', premiered alongside the announcement; Wayne Coyne said the song emerged from a childhood story about hide-and-seek during a full moon. The tracklist runs thirteen songs, including 'Throb', 'Titan' and 'Every Teardrop Cried'. The album was produced by the band with Taylor Johnson, Dave Fridmann and Scott Booker. A series of intimate two-night stands is planned for Nashville, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and London in early 2027.
