Dream Unending announce Certain Uncertainties, share Strained Sincerity

US–Canadian atmospheric doom duo Dream Unending have announced their third album, Certain Uncertainties, due 30 October via 20 Buck Spin. The first single, Strained Sincerity, is streaming now with an official video on the label’s YouTube channel.
The record—six tracks running from Blinding Allure to Causal—was written while guitarist Derrick Vella was rebuilding confidence in risk-taking, and the announcement notes a shift toward a leaner, more nocturnal sound: fewer layers, more immediate performances, and room for Vella’s guitar to wander through blues, jazz and progressive vocabulary. Justin DeTore’s drums add physical momentum throughout. Guests include Leila Abdul-Rauf on trumpet, Benny Grotto on percussion, Dave Vella on keys, and Brendan Radigan on vocals. Arthur Rizk handled mixing and mastering; cover art is by Benjamin Vierling.
On the evidence of the single, the band’s signature blend of death-doom weight with progressive and ambient openness remains intact, but the production feels drier and more direct—a deliberate choice that lets the interplay breathe. Pre-orders for LP, CD, cassette and digital are open at 20 Buck Spin and Bandcamp.
