Caspian announce self-titled sixth album, share "Hiraeth"

Massachusetts post-rock quintet Caspian will release their sixth album, the self-titled Caspian, on 16 October via Wax Bodega — their first in six years. The five-piece of Jonny Ashburn, Justin Forrest, Philip Jamieson, Calvin Joss and Jani Zubkovs returned to what defined them from the start rather than searching for new territory. Echoes and Dust reviewer Geoff Topley describes the record as captivating, with sublime melodies throughout: the majestic opener "Hiraeth" blends delicate guitars and sweeping strings, "Far Country" carries a Celtic-tinged melody, and the nine-minute "Remain" builds from acoustic picking to a glorious epic fusion. The heavier "A Great Fire" introduces menacing riffs mid-album, while closer "Waltz for the End" resolves in a warm, consoling embrace. A listening party with the band is scheduled two days before release. Pre-orders for vinyl, CD and digital are open via Bandcamp.
