From the archive: Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. — Live in Japan (2002)

A curated archival selection for the Japanese psychedelic rock canon: the full Live in Japan performance by Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O., recorded in October 2002 and originally released as AMTCD-006 (limited to 2000 copies). The set spans three expansive movements — "Cosmic Introduction ~ Untitled Space", "In E", and "La Novia ~ Speed Guru" — capturing Kawabata Makoto's soaring guitar interplay with the group's hypnotic motorik rhythms and synthesizer textures. The recording was remastered for Bandcamp by Kawabata in 2020. This video, uploaded to the RXRE ARCHIVES channel, preserves a foundational document of the Japanese acid-psych underground that later spawned the Guruguru Brain label and influenced acts like Kikagaku Moyo and Minami Deutsch. For listeners tracing the lineage of modern Japanese psychedelia, this 78-minute concert is an essential entry point.
