Seb Brun / Ar Ker shares 'Copper #1' from upcoming album Materials on Carton Records

French drummer and composer Seb Brun, recording as Ar Ker, has premiered 'Copper #1', the first track from his forthcoming second solo album Materials via Carton Records. The piece was recorded live with an expanded drum kit fitted with electronics, piezo microphones and feedback loops that interact unpredictably as he plays, keeping percussion at the centre of a slightly unruly, moment-to-moment dialogue. Materials is structured around three physical materials — maple wood, bronze and copper — each shaping a section of the larger composition; 'Copper #1' opens the final, electricity-focused movement. The album follows Brun's 2020 Ar Ker debut, also recorded live without overdubs, but expands the electronic setup considerably. Materials is available for pre-order on Bandcamp (vinyl, CD, digital) with a 30 December 2026 digital release date. Autumn 2026 tour dates include Linz, Vienna, Bydgoszcz, Pantin and Brno.
