Tender Ender share 'Choice' ahead of new album Red Kites

Swiss songwriter Thomas Schmidiger, recording as Tender Ender, has released 'Choice', the third single from his forthcoming second album Red Kites, due 13 November. The track arrives with a visualizer and follows the earlier singles 'Darkness' and 'Woke Up with a Knife', both of which made prominent use of home organ and its built-in rhythm machine.
'Choice' takes a different approach: Schmidiger delivers much of the vocal in a spoken-word style over sparse piano, the arrangement gradually building toward a hymn-like intensity while the lyrics question the familiar claim that there is no alternative. The nine-track album was written and recorded between 2022 and 2024 in Gysenstein, Switzerland, with instrumentation kept deliberately simple — piano, home organ, harmonium, vibraphone and pedal steel, plus additional vocals from Sabine Ruch. Mixing was handled by Manuel Egger, mastering by Greg Calbi and Steve Fallone. Vinyl pre-orders are open via the artist's web shop.
