Sleepwalk share new single "Jan 22" from upcoming album View From The Outside

Chicago quartet Sleepwalk have released "Jan 22", the second advance track from their forthcoming album View From The Outside, due 13 November via MNRK Heavy. The single follows last month's heavier lead cut "Sandbox" and reveals a gentler, more melodic side of the band — shimmering guitars, atmospheric synths and an enveloping melody that MAGNET Magazine describes as "a love letter to wintertime in the city, as well as a general celebration of life."
Frontman Ryan Davis wrote the lyrics during a snowy walk home from practice in January. "It's easy to focus on the bad things and miss the beauty," he says. The album was recorded over twelve days at Earth Analog, the Illinois studio owned by Hum guitarist Matt Talbott, and reunites the band with producer Zac Montez (Whirr, Cloakroom), who worked on their 2021 LP Underneath The Shade. Sleepwalk have drawn frequent comparisons to Midwestern shoegaze pioneers Hum, and the new material expands into more expansive, dream-pop-adjacent territory while retaining their post-hardcore core.
View From The Outside is available for pre-order on Bandcamp in digital, CD and concrete-vinyl formats. The band will play a hometown release show at Sleeping Village on 12 November, followed by a US tour in December.
