Seismic announce debut album The Abyss of Time, premiere "In the Days of the Comet"

Philadelphia instrumental doom quartet Seismic have announced their debut full-length The Abyss of Time, due October 2 via Bandcamp with a limited CD release at the In the Key of Doom festival in Brooklyn. The announcement arrives with a track premiere of the 12-minute opener "In the Days of the Comet" on The Obelisk.
The five-track, 62-minute album was recorded by Steve Roche at Permanent Hearing Damage with additional recording by Anthony Mariano. Ken Miller (bass) handled cover art and design through Violent Visual. The tracklist spans from the tense, sprawling opener through "The War of the Worlds," "When the Sleeper Wakes," "Star Begotten" to the 29-minute closer "The Time Machine" — a 2023 demo now expanded into the album's centrepiece.
JJ Koczan, reviewing for The Obelisk, calls the debut "a cohesive monster of a thing" that balances weighted force with atmospheric reach, noting Morbid Angel-like severity in the riffing and an Om-like meditative undercurrent in the long-form pieces. Seismic — Mike Lang (drums), Ken Miller (bass), Tommy McEwan and Anthony Mariano (guitars) — open Night 1 of In the Key of Doom on October 2 at The Meadows. Pre-orders are open via Bandcamp; a wider digital and vinyl release will follow.
