A new supergroup named Jaberdarwin has shared the title track from their upcoming debut album The Soft Collapse, set for release on 6 November 2026 via Subsound Records. The band brings together four veteran musicians: Eraldo Bernocchi on guitar (Sigillum S, Obake, Metallic Taste of Blood), Colin Edwin on bass (Porcupine Tree, O.R.k., Voyage 35), Tomas Järmyr on drums (Motorpsycho, ex-Zu) and Gareth Davis on bass clarinet (Merzbow, Oiseaux-Tempête, Bernhard Lang, Peter Ablinger). The nine-minute opener 'The Soft Collapse' begins sparsely with guitar and bass clarinet given room to breathe, then moves through a krautrock-inspired section before breaking into heavier, louder territory with bluesy guitar passages. The six-track album was recorded at One Louder Studios by Alan Emptage, produced and mixed by Bernocchi and Edwin, with Bernocchi also handling mastering. Vinyl editions include standard black and a limited metallic silver-and-gold pressing (100 copies). Pre-orders are open at the Subsound Records shop.
