The Ocean have released their twelfth studio album, Solaris, on 25 September 2026 via Pelagic Records. The Berlin-based group's rebuilt lineup includes founder Robin Staps and vocalists Lane Shi (Otayonii) and Enrico Tiberi. Inspired by Andrei Tarkovsky's 1972 film Solaris, the album combines heavy post-metal, electronics and a psychedelic edge that the Echoes and Dust review compares with The Doors and Blade Runner. Reviewer Zachary Nathanson highlights Simulacra, the 12-minute Ultima Esperanza and Milk of My Dreams, and describes the record as a new chapter after the 2023 album Holocene. This is based on the review text; Echo Mandala has not heard the recording itself.
