Stain premiere "Chasm" video from Permitting Evil EP

Stain

Finnish sludge/doom trio Stain have released a music video for "Chasm", the opening track of their EP Permitting Evil. The video premiered on 26 September 2026 via the band's official YouTube channel. The EP itself came out on 27 March 2026 on cassette through Splatter Tapes and digitally via Grindwar Records.

Stain operate from Sula in the Uusimaa region, maintaining a deliberate low profile: their stated philosophy is that "music is the only message the band wants to leave behind". The three-piece — formed in 2017 — plays heavy, primitive sludge/doom with themes of depression, suffering, death and pessimism. Permitting Evil contains three tracks: "Chasm", "In Nothingness" and the title track "Permitting Evil". All music and lyrics are by Stain; the EP was recorded, mixed and mastered fully analogue by Tapio Lepistö at Black Floyd's Analog Studio.

The video for "Chasm" was produced without AI at any stage. On the evidence of the clip, the band's sound leans into crushing slow tempos, feedback-drenched guitars and a cavernous vocal delivery that matches the lyrical bleakness. For a project that avoids promotion, the video is a rare visual document — stark, monochrome and entirely focused on the music.
